The City of Nixa is launching Nixa 2045, a process for planning the city’s growth for the next 20 years and beyond. This new comprehensive plan process will be used to guide decision-making, development and infrastructure projects across the community. The Nixa 2045 plan will serve as a road map to visualize where the public wants to go as a city, and the path to reach that destination. The focus of the plan will be a strong emphasis on land use, transportation, education, parks and trails, development patterns, housing types, infrastructure and economic development. Public input will be essential to shaping this plan for Nixa’s vibrant future.

The Can the Tigers/Can the Eagles event was created more than 15 years ago to serve as a community service project benefiting Least Of These, Inc. through the long-standing friendly and competitive rivalry between Nixa and Ozark in Christian County. It has grown into a large community event in conjunction with one of the most anticipated football games every year, the Backyard Brawl, between Nixa and Ozark.

The Nixa Police Department announced last week the implementation of Flock cameras in Nixa to solve and reduce crime. Four automated license plate reading (ALPR) cameras built by Flock Safety have been installed in the community. Flock Safety is a public safety technology company which helps neighborhoods, communities and law enforcement work together to fight crime.
