Steven Wayne Seaton, 71, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 14th around 4:30 p.m. His visitation and funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 20th, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with the funeral beginning at 11:30. Services will be held at West Finley Baptist Church, 258 Olga Rd, Fordland, MO. The burial will be in the cemetery adjacent to the church grounds.

Twenty-two Nixa students earned District Band honors and will perform with the District Honor & Concert Bands in January 2025 at the Aetos Center for the Performing Arts. Students who made the Honor Band or the first two chairs of the Concert Band are eligible to audition for the Missouri All-State Band. Those students are indicated with an asterisk below.

This past weekend, the Nixa Crimson Corps concluded their marching season by attending the Bands of America Grand Nationals competition, held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. This event is the largest and final marching competition in the nation, featuring 112 of the top bands from across the country. The band earned a 1 rating, which is the highest rating that can be achieved.

Charles "Charlie" Fears, 82, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away on November 6, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 8, 1941, in Paragould, Arkansas, to Pete and Lois Fears, Charlie grew up in Stanford, Arkansas, where he graduated from high school before embarking on a life marked by love, service, and deep devotion to family, faith, and community.

Fourteen Nixa Choir Students were selected to represent Missouri in the 2025 American Choir Directors Association National Honor Choir. Over 5,000 students auditioned nationwide to be a part of the various ensembles, and around 1,000 were chosen. Their performance will take place over spring break in Dallas, Texas.
