PUBLIC NOTICE

The City of Sparta, Missouri is now accepting sealed bids for excavating work. The contract period would extend from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011.

The proposed work would include the replacement of waterlines, valves, fire hydrants, repairing of water leaks, installation of metering equipment, tapping water mains, hauling of dirt and rock. Excavator must be available for emergencies.

Excavators shall submit proof of liability insurance and workers compensation/employers liability coverage with their bids. All applicants must be OSHA certified. All bids must be prevailing wage. Bid applicants must secure a Performance Construction Bond with MoDot, in the amount of $60,000 by January 1, 2011.

Bids should be submitted on a charge-per-hour basis. Bid forms are available at Sparta City Hall or via fax.
