Cumma Ruth Lewis, 86, of Ozark, died March 14, 2016. She was born Oct. 4, 1929, near Reeds Spring, the daughter of Everett and Sarah Ellen (Baker) Hopper. On Sept. 18, 1944, she and Clarence Lewis were united in marriage. Cumma was a Christian. Fifty-two years ago she was baptized into the Calvary Fundamental Baptist Church at Ponce de Leon.

Cumma worked for area garment factories, but her family was the important treasure in her life. Each generation was precious to her. She enjoyed taking care of her family as well as others. A great cook, family and friends remember her chicken and dumplings and carrot cake as well as so many other dishes. Cumma enjoyed mowing and working in her yard, and decorating her house, making it comfortable for visitors.

Survivors include three children, Ron Lewis of Ozark, Donna Doty and husband Buck of Nixa and Sherry Campbell of Forsyth; two grandchildren, Sean Campbell and wife Rae and Christy Doty; three great-grandchildren, Kylie Doty, Jaden Campbell and Greyson Campbell; and other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence in 2006; an infant son, Jackie Lewis; a sister Audrey Boswell; two brothers, Bob Hopper and Jay Hopper; and her parents.
