Diana Lynn Nelson, 59, of Ozark, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2018. She was born Aug. 11, 1959, in Springfield, the daughter of William and Patricia (Blevins) Dickerson. She was a graduate of Ozark High School. On July 4, 1993, she and Bruce Nelson were married. They renewed their vows on July 4, 2015. Diana owned a cleaning business and also worked for the Ozark Fire Department for several years. When she was young, she worked for her father’s business, Mid-American Advertising.

Diana was selfless, always giving to others and understanding their needs. She was able to give selflessly—even following her death—as an organ donor. She loved and took pride in her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with grandchildren. She enjoyed being outdoors, and in the last few years became an avid gardener. She had a special gift of being able to just reach down to find a four-leaf clover when others could not. Colorado was Diana’s favorite place to vacation with family.

Diana is survived by her husband Bruce; three children and their spouses, Shawna and Todd Lowery of Sparta, Joshua and Tamara Cram of Springfield, and Daniel and Shermeka Nelson of Warner Robins, Georgia; 10 grandchildren, Brittany, Ryan, Hunter, Mallory, Carson, Anna, Brooklyn, Deonte, Kamari, and Taelyn; three great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Parker and Addison; her sister, Pamela Young and husband Steve of Ozark; her brother, Bill Dickerson Jr. and wife Brenda of Kansas City; her faithful dogs, Nellie, Charlie and Eddie; and other relatives and many friends.

Her parents, William Dickerson and Patricia Garner, preceded her in death. A special dog, Houdini, also preceded her in death.
