Services: 2 p.m. Oct. 20, at The Springs Church, 5500 S. Southwood Road, Springfield. Private visitation for family only to be held one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Springs Church Children's Fund or Care To Learn, Ozark.

Jeannine Boone Block, 87, of Ozark, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018. She was born Dec. 28, 1930, in Pullman, Washington, to the late Daniel and Opal Boone.

Jeannine was raised in Pullman, Washington on the Boone family farm. Jeannine married M. King Block from Grangeville, Idaho in 1951. She earned her elementary education degree at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Jeannine taught for 36 years and worked as a substitute teacher until she was 86 years of age. Her teaching career influenced students in Arkansas, Washington, Iowa, and finally, Missouri. Jeannine was a wonderful mom and friend. Her impact on many young lives is indescribable. Besides teaching and raising three children, she was a college football coach's wife, and a co-owner of a family western store and Mid-American Horse Sales.

Jeannine was preceded in death by her sister, Marion Boone Dunn, and brothers Dan Boone and Tom Boone.

Jeannine is survived by her two sons, King Block and wife Glenna of Ozark and Chris Block of Ames, Iowa; daughter Candy Griffin and husband Stan of Fairfax, Oklahoma; and grandchildren King Boone Block II and wife Leah, Ali Barnes, Asher Griffin and wife Brooke, and Sam Block and wife Landyn. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: King Boone Block III, Cooper Block, Laynee Barnes, Bruce Barnes, Brody Barnes and Boaz Barnes.
