Funeral: 10:30 a.m. March 31 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Bado Cemetery, Bado.
Joe Wayne Cornett, 82, of Nixa, died March 27, 2017. He was born Dec. 10, 1934, in Huntsville, Arkansas, to Ralph and Bessie (Westbrook) Cornett. Wayne served in the Army in Germany during the Cold War. Wayne married Clara Bowser-Cornett Nov. 14, 1974, in Houston. While in Ontario, California, he bartended in the late 1960s and was a house mover from the late 1960s into the 1970s. Wayne was a foreman for Armstrong Nurseries and his specialty was propagating millions of roses. He loved farming and raising cattle.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Clara of 42 years; step-children Peggy Kubicek and husband John, Lyle Cornett, Linda Richardson, Ernest Cornett and wife Janet and Dolores Williams and husband Harvey; sister, Tilda Ventry; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Arthur Cornett, Paul Cornett, Grace Branum, Ewell Cornett and George Cornett.
