Funeral: 6 p.m. Oct. 4, at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Visitation to be held two hours prior to service, also at the funeral home. A private burial will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations may be made in Wayne’s memory to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Missouri.

John Wayne Hedgpeth was born Aug. 28, 1946, to Lenville Hedgpeth and Avis Magers. He passed away in his home Sept. 27, 2018. Wayne was married to Wanda Hedgpeth for 33 years. Wayne had two daughters, Lisa Hammons and Tammy Cook. Wayne retired from Sears Service Center after roughly 30 years of service and worked at Nixa Hardware for several more years, as a small engine repairman “expert.” 

Wayne loved to go fishing and enjoyed tournament fishing with his buddies. He enjoyed hunting, but loved camping with his friends probably more than being in a tree. Wayne was loved by his family and many special friends very much.

Wayne, was preceded in death by his dad, Lenville; a very special step-dad, Virgil Head; his mother, Avis Head; brother Gary Hedgpeth; sister Berniece Atkinson and her husband Paul; nephews Dale and Ray Atkinson; great-nephew James; and his dear friends, Jerry, Frank and Al.

Wayne, is survived by his wife Wanda; daughter Lisa Hammons and husband James; daughter Tammy Cook and husband Tim; and five grandchildren he adored, Timothy Cook, Cody Hammons, Tyler Cook, Kalee Hammons and Kalena Hammons.
