Funeral: A celebration of Linda’ life will take place 11 a.m. May 14, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 911 W. Mount Vernon St., Nixa. Visitation to be held on hour prior to service, also at the funeral home. Burial followed at Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery, Springfield. Contributions may be made in Linda’s name to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

Linda Anne (Pierce) Williams, 69, died Thursday, May 10, 2018. She was born Oct. 20, 1948, in Springfield.

Linda was a 1966 graduate of Glendale High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Southwest Missouri State University in 1970. She was awarded a master’s in business administration healthcare management from American Inter-Continental University in 2004.

Linda was the beloved wife of her love of 43 years, Kenneth “Ken” James Williams, of Springfield; an honored mother and “partner in crime” of Anne (Williams) Miller with husband James, and Brenna (Williams) Batty with husband Shawn; dear daughter of the late Anne Bay Pierce and Calvin W. Pierce; sister to Jack, Janice and Carole; adoring grandmother to Makayla, Ian, Emma, Amelia, Alexis, Simon, Elijah, Selah, Felix, and Hannah; as well as to Micah, Ava, and Teddy, who she joined in Heaven’s home.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Anne; and younger sister, Janice.

Linda worked as a microbiologist for the Missouri Department of Health and as a toxicologist with the Missouri Department of Corrections for 15 years. Linda was active in children’s ministry, the hand bell choir, was a gifted writer, church choir member, avid reader, creator of fiber arts and a lover of beautiful things. She will be remembered, foremost, for her quick wit and generous heart, as well as for her many collections including hummingbirds, ruby red glassware, Santas, angels, quilts and music boxes.
