Marjorie Kathleen Deulen, 91 of Nixa, died Feb. 29, 2012. She was born Jan. 5, 1921, in Christian County, the daughter of Guy and Jewel (Nokes) Hedgpeth. On April 25, 1937, she married Orville Deulen, who preceded her in death in 2005. Kathleen was a member of Calvary Bible Church. She enjoyed traveling with her winter Texan friends and sewing. Kathleen loved being with her family, especially the pizza parties with her grandkids and great grandkids. Survivors include: Two children, Michael Lee Deulen and wife Margaret, Springfield, and Margie Messenger and husband Gene, Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren, Leah Maples and husband Scott, Jason Deulen and wife Diane, Rodney Messenger and wife Toni, Sarah Messenger and friend Michael; seven great grandchildren, Kelton, Kyle, Elizabeth, Nick, Cooper, Trevor, and William; two step grandchildren, Tara and Matt; and three step great grandchildren, Makayla, Holden and London. In addition to her husband, Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, JD Hedgpeth. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. March 3, 2012 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will follow in Frazier Cemetery, Boaz. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. March 3 immediately before the funeral. Memorial donations may be made to Preferred Hospice. The family thanks Kelly and Heather of hospice, and her daily caregivers, Tammy and Kim.
