Visitation: 6-8 p.m. March 28 at Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.

Funeral: 10:30 a.m. March 29 at Dogwood Church of Nazarene with Pastor Michael Peebles and Pastor Reggie Micham officiating. Burial followed at Bruner Cemetery.

Michael John DeZura, 68, of Sparta, the husband of Sheryl, died March 24, 2016, from injuries sustained from a car accident. MIchael was born Oct. 27, 1947, in Haxtun, Colorado, to the late Michael J. DeZura and Mina (Gates) McCutchen. He married Sheryl on March 20, 2011.

Mike had a larger-than-life personality and served the Lord. He was a Switchman for the Missouri Pacific Railroad prior to owning a tow truck business and a car dealership. He worked as an oil rigger with Brown and Root, worked construction and loved to buy and sell old cars.

He had an entrepreneurial gift, was an excellent cook and loved to travel. He loved family, friends and his pets.

Mike is survived by wife Sheryl; four children, Kathleen Willie and husband Allen, Covington, Louisiana, Michelle (DeZura) Anthony, Portland, Oregon, Michael J. DeZura II, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Stephanie (DeZura) Haigler and husband Jeffrey, New Orleans, Louisiana; three stepdaughters, Nicole Walsh and husband Adam, Shreveport, Louisiana, Jessica Miller and husband Eric, Austin, Texas, and Michelle Rapagnani and fiancé Ryan, Louisville, Kentucky; three grandsons, Houston Anthony, Logan Anthony and Connor Willie; sisters, Harriet Biarnesen and Cindy Newkirk; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Mary “Kathy” Wallace; and brother John Loos.
