Nate Lissant died at home of natural causes Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018. 

Nate retired as the director of member relations for the Veterinary Information Network. He worked for the VIN for over 23 years. He was a resident of Springfield for over 40 years. Born in St Louis, Nate graduated from Parkway West High School, completed a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Animal Husbandry from the University of Missouri and received a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri. Nate, in addition, was a former president of the American Association of Industrial Veterinarians and a former president of the Southwest Missouri Veterinary Medical Association.

Nate’s hobbies included fishing, scuba, walking, hiking, bicycling, reading, listening to music and watching and producing videos. He had a passion for polydactyl cats and was an accomplished guitar player.

Nate is survived by his mother, Ellen Lissant; sister Joyce Uggla with husband Dave; niece Linnea Uggla; nephew Jordan Uggla; and brother Keith Lissant with wife Nancy.
