Vivian Clellene Clinton, 87, of Ozark, died July 7, 2018. Vivian was born Dec. 2, 1930, in the small community of Abadyl, to Clell and Glessa Pauline (Gann) Farwell.

She attended grade school at LaRose and later attended school in Sparta, where she graduated in 1948. After graduation, Vivian moved to Springfield where she began working for Citizens Bank. On March 17, 1951, she married George A. Clinton. They made their home in Ozark, where she did babysitting, and she later worked at Hagale Industries. She retired from Fasco Industries in 1992.

Vivian was an excellent seamstress and a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed camping with family and friends. The past two years, she was a resident of James River Nursing and Rehabilitation, where she loved playing bingo, going to activities and getting her nails polished. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with family and friends. She was a very loving, gentle and patient wife, mother and grandmother.

Saved at an early age, Vivian later taught Sunday School classes and sang in a church quartet. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Ozark.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George. Also preceding her in death was her sister and brother-in-law, Marolyn and Bob Snider and nephew, Marty Snider.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce McGillen and husband Jim; her son, Dennis Clinton and wife LaDonna, all of Ozark; her grandson, Jared Clinton and wife Rachel; great-grandson, Connor; and great-granddaughter, Anna Grace, due in November, all of St. Charles; her sister-in-law, Clara Clinton of Ozark; along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to James River Nursing and Mercy Hospice for the loving care she received.
