The day before Thanksgiving has become a favorite day to work for Ozark police officers.
Operation Giving Day is a day when the police deliver traditional Thanksgiving meals to senior citizens in Ozark and in other parts of eastern Christian County. The annual delivery is done through a partnership with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, the Ozark Senior Center, the Ozark Utopia Club and Ozark Apple Market.
On Nov. 24, the police helped feed 200 senior citizens to celebrate Thanksgiving.
This year’s Thanksgiving meals were paid for by the Ozark Utopia Club and by the Ozark Police Officers Association.
