Billings dropped a 25-22, 25-15 decision to West Platte in the third-place match of the Class 1 State Volleyball Tournament in Cape Girardeau on Saturday.

The Lady Wildcats were led by Bailey Groves' 11 kills and 10 digs and Liz Gearing's 19 assists and 10 digs.

Billings went 1-2 in pool play Friday.

The Lady Wildcats' win was a 25-22, 25-21 sweep of West Platte.

Groves was efficient, netting 14 kills in 29 attempts while making only one error. Likewise, Kortney Kimberling contributed five kills in seven chances. Gearing dished out 25 assists and Lexy VanZandt had 13 digs.

Billings opened play with a 25-23, 25-14 loss to Advance.

Groves collected seven kills and one solo block and VanZandt posted a dozen digs.

The Lady Wildcats bowed to Calvary Lutheran 25-21, 25-21.

Groves recorded 14 digs and 14 kills, Gearing had 23 assists and VanZandt 12 digs.

Billings finishes with a 27-8-2 record.
