Inman Intermediate School board games in library

Inman Intermediate School students show off a new collection of board games purchased through grant funding from the Nixa Education Foundation.

The Nixa Education Foundation recently granted money for the purpose of purchasing board games at the library at Inman Intermediate School. The games arrived just in time for summer school students to enjoy playing them.

Inman Librarian D'anne Schnakenberg said that research shows the benefits of students playing board games are numerous, including increased social skills, problem solving and brain development.

"Plus", she said, "it's just really fun for them.”

The games will be used during the upcoming school year when students visit the library at the beginning of each day. Schnakenberg said she appreciates the NEF organization for its generosity.
