U.S. Senators Roy Blunt, R-Missouri, and Josh Hawley, R-Missouri, commended Senate passage of their legislation permanently designating May 1 as “Silver Star Service Banner Day.”
It has seven commendations against just two recommendations. The independent auditor doesn’t come out and say it, but a review of Christian County’s finances is all together positive.

Clever’s players and coaches bypassed all the curves on the exceptionally windy road that is Highway 14 between Sparta and Ava. The Jays were alerted Hwy. 14 was closed about 10 miles west of Ava and thus their team bus traveled along Hwy. 160 en route to the Douglas County county seat Monday.
