Ozark’s Olivia Lyon, Sydney Johnson and Brocklyn Barber all captured individual firsts to lead the Lady Tigers to the team championship at the Jocks Nitch/Pitt State Relays on Friday.
Lyon set a school record and meet record in the pole vault by clearing 12-0. The Pitt State signee did not miss attempts at 10-6, 11-0, 11-6 and 12-0, before going out at 12-2. Her season-best had been 11-3.
Johnson took the 200 with a time of 25.90. She was the only runner to break into the 25s.
Barber claimed the 800 (2:21) by a full second.
The Lady Tigers ran away from the field in the team standings Their total of 96.5 points was 21.5 points ahead of runner-up Owasso, Oklahoma.
Johnson teamed with Anna Hitt, Hailey Mackey and Ashley Childers to finish second in the 4 x 200 relay (1:46).
Ozark’s 4 x 400 relay of Hitt, Johnson, Adriana Wakeman and Alexis Barber was runner-up (4:04).
The Lady Tigers’ 4 x 800 relay of Alexis Barber, Wakeman, Kinsey Norton and Brocklyn Barber placed second (9:40).
The Barbers were 2-3 in the 1,600, with Alexis finishing second (5:17) and Brocklyn third (5:21).
Grace Hall placed fourth in the high jump (5-2), as did Katie Beets in the pole vault (11-0). For both of them, they set a personal record.
The 4 x 100 relay of Childers, Johnson, Abby Mead and Kelly Sims was fifth (50.54).
Hitt was fifth in the 400 (59.63).
