The Missouri Writers Hall of Fame honored Ozark High School student Caroline Taylor at the Student Awards Banquet April 25, at the Darr Center in Springfield.
Selections of Taylor's winning portfolio were read to the audience while she received a $1,000 scholarship. Multiple presenters sought her out after the banquet to compliment her work.
Taylor was one of 10 high school students recognized as a scholarship recipient. Elias Mertens of Spokane received the Nick Harkens Memorial Scholarship that evening.
The Missouri Writers Hall of Fame is designed to encourage, inspire and celebrate the joy of writing. It was established in 1994 as a way to help students accomplish their dreams of pursuing writing and literary careers.
