In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Children's Smile Center held its signature fundraising event that regularly draws about 10,000 guests to see the spectacle of hot air balloons glowing against the evening sky.

The 2020 Children's Smile Center Hot Air Balloon Glow moved from Finley River Park in Ozark to McCauley Park in Nixa in an effort to create a first-of-its-kind drive-through event in Christian County.

Children's Smile Center provides dental care to children and pregnant women who are on Medicaid who would otherwise not have access to dental care. The funds raised through businesses sponsoring the balloon glow help offset some costs of care that Medicaid does not cover.
