Dorothy Jean “Jeannie” Cheek, 79, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, after residing for an extended time at Ozark Nursing and Care Center. She was born Feb. 9, 1939, the daughter of Herman Lee and Merle Agnes (Gardner) Wheat. Jeannie was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who treasured her time with family and friends and always placed the needs of others above her own. She was a devout Christian who loved gospel music and going to church.
Jeannie is lovingly survived by her family which includes a brother, Jim Wheat and wife Barbara; a daughter, Heather Bradford and husband Chris La Rose, with grandchildren Tiffany, Christian and Christopher; additional grandchildren Cody, Mckayla, and Kloey; and numerous nieces, nephews and other dear loved ones.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Patrick Cheek; brother Richard Wheat; infant granddaughter Cassandra Barnett; as well as her son, James Barnett (July 10, 1972- December 25, 2008), for who we will also share this remembrance.
