James (Jim) D. Nord

A private memorial service will be held at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.

James (Jim) D. Nord died Monday, March 4, 2019. He was born Nov. 15, 1944, in St. Charles, Illinois, the son of Ellwyn and Evelyn (Green) Nord.

On Jan. 7, 1967, James was united in marriage to Ava (Hilton), who survives him.

Jim served in the U. S. Air Force after graduating from high school. Jim had a long and rewarding career with Red Lobster restaurants. He was an area supervisor/general manager for many stores in many states over the years. He helped in setting up new restaurants across the United States. He managed the Red Lobster in Springfield the last 20 years and retired in 2007.

Jim believed in Jesus Christ and shared that with everyone who crossed his path. Jim was an amazingly kind and generous man. He was known for speaking the truth. Jim read the Bible daily. He was a gun enthusiast and enjoyed target practice. Jim was very devoted to all of his family, including his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.

Jim is also survived by his children, James R. Nord and wife Susan of Seymour, Mark E. Nord of Highlandville, Paul V. Nord and wife Melynda of Ozark, Rebecca A. Nord of Highlandville and Katherine M. Allen of Marshfield; his brothers, David Nord and wife Rae of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Steve Nord of DeKalb, Illinois; 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his parents, and a great granddaughter.
