“Red One” desperately wants to be an “edgy” Christmas movie. Edgy Christmas movies throughout history have included everything from raunchy comedies (“Bad Santa,” “The Ref”) to intense action (“Fatman,” “Violent Night”) to straight-up horror (“Black Christmas,” “Silent Night, Deadly Night”). When edgy movies turn Christmas on its head just right, they can become blockbusters and classics like “Home Alone” or “Die Hard.” When they fail, well, they’ll do whatever “Red One” is going to do at the box office because this movie is a big miss. more

My, what a week!! I am so glad the election is over and hope things will settle down for everyone. I almost didn't get to vote this year. When I tried to vote early the line was too long for my patience. Then, when we all woke up Tuesday morning Swan Creek was rolling and a big tree was lodged on the upper side. It was Bob to the rescue again. He kept track of how fast the level was dropping and when he could get out in it he trimmed a lot of limbs that would be in the way of crossing. By 1:00 the creek was low enough to safely cross. I still wouldn't move away for anything. Just wish they had built the slab four feet higher when it was replaced in 1994. more
