Nixa's Garrett Robertson likes to wear his Roger Federer hat whenever he's on the court.

Nixa’s tennis team picked up a pair of COC wins by whipping Webb City 8-1 and downing Republic 6-3.

Against Webb City, No. 1 singles player Garrett Robertson and the No. 2 doubles team of Tanner Barnes and Mark Meads didn’t drop a game.

Against Republic, Barnes won a tie-breaker 9-7 at No. 2 singles and teamed with Meads for an 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Spokane spits SWCL games

Brooke Martin and Brooke Greiger both doubled to power Spokane past Blue Eye 7-4.

Martin and Jordyn Rollings both drove in two runs. Shelby Byrne banged out two hits.

The Lady Owls were edged by Billings 17-13, as the Lady Wildcats collected 20 hits. Spokane squandered an 8-1 lead.

Spokane received three hits from Geiger and two hits from Micayla McClure, Paige Tate, Malina Stevens and Raylen Wallace.

Mt. Vernon blanks Clever

Clever’s softball team saw its four-game winning streak come to and end as the Lady Jays suffered a 9-0 setback at the hands of Mt. Vernon.

Clever (11-12) managed just three hits.
