Kinson Michel’s two-run home run in the 14th inning helped lift Nixa past Willard 7-6 in 14 innings Tuesday.
Michel broke a 4-all tie as part of the Eagles’ three-run eruption in the 14th. He had a two-run double earlier in the game.
Willard tried to answer with two runs in the bottom of the 14th, but Caleb Crockett got the final out on a strikeout.
Nixa improved to 10-1.
Sparta falls in 14 innings
Sparta’s baseball team lost 8-5 in 14 innings to Blue Eye in SWCL action.
The teams were tied at 4-all after seven innings.
Tigers gain COC win
Riley Sundlie, Darren Sims and Hunter Tennison teamed to throw six shutout innings in the Ozark baseball team’s 5-2 win at Branson.
Sundlie worked the first four innings and yielded three hits. Sims threw the sixth inning and Tennison the seventh. They did not allow a hit.
Ozark’s offense included a two-run single by Jake Skaggs, a two-run double by Cason Shaver and an RBI-single by Carson O’Brien. Skaggs also tripled.
It was the first COC win for the Tigers (8-5 overall and 1-3) in the COC).
Lady Jays victorious
Clever’s softball team collected a 7-6 win over Southwest.
The Lady Jays won, despite four errors and striking out 13 times.
Cara Brown walked three times, Kenna Wise ripped two hits and Ashten Graaf drove in three runs.
