College football coming to Nixa

Posted

The Evangel University football team will play its 2021 home games at Eagle Stadium at Nixa High School.

Evangel makes the move to Eagle Stadium after playing home games at Ozark High School from 2016 to 2020, and compiling a 17-9 home record at Tiger Stadium.

Negotiations with Nixa Public Schools led Evangel, which is also getting a new mascot in 2021, to make the move. Eagle Stadium was renovated prior to the 2020 season. The upgrades include new chairback seats and a new press level on the home grandstands.

Eagle Stadium will mark the fourth venue the Evangel football team has called “home” since the 1977 season, the first for football at the university. All combined at JFK Stadium, Plaster Stadium and Ozark’s Tiger Stadium, Evangel has compiled a 231-220-3 home record in southwest Missouri.

Single-game and season tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at http://www.EvangelAthletics.com/Tickets. Evangel will open the 2021 home schedule at Nixa on Sept. 4 against Graceland at 6 p.m.
