Eagles’ Butler, Palmer tabbed All-State Second Team


Nixa forward Andrew Butler and midfielder Carson Palmer have been named to the Missouri Soccer Coaches Association’s Class 4 All-State Second Team.

Butler topped the Eagles with 14 goals, to go along with eight assists, while Palmer led Nixa with nine assists, to go along with eight goals. Both are juniors.

The State Player of The Year is Ryder Barrett, of state champion Rockhurst.

The All-COC First Team includes Palmer, Butler and Ozark midfiielders Jose Ortega and Adrian Ortega.

All-COC Second-Team selections are Nixa midfielder Colin Cash and defender Kaleb James and Ozark defender Justin Baker.

All-COC honorable mention recognition went to Nixa forward Zach Naugle and Ozark midfielder Ethan Peeples.

James posted 27 blocks and had one assist. Cash collected five goals and five assists. Naugle collected nine goals and seven assists.

The Class 4 District 5 First Team includes Palmer, Butler, Naugle, James, Cash, Baker and the Ortegas. Honorable mention recognition went to Baker, Peeples and Nixa’s Caeden Cloud.

Cloud, a freshman defender, totaled five goals and four assists.
