Knatcal ties Nixa record to lead blowout of Neosho

Posted

NEOSHO — Connor Knatcal fired four touchdown passes to tie Nixa’s single-game record for scoring strikes in the Eagles’ 54-20 drubbing of Neosho on Saturday.

Knatcal shares that mark with fellow junior Austin McCracken, who had four touchdown passes a year ago at Branson.

Knatcal’s touchdown passes covered 63 and 29 yards to Rylan Michel, six yards to Kael Combs and three yards to Jayden Antonelli.

Knatcal completed 14-of-25 passes for 255 yards.

Spencer Ward had his second straight game eclipsing the 100-yard rushing mark. He ran the ball 22 times for 128 yards, including three touchdowns.

The Eagles (4-1) failed to score in the first quarter for the second straight week and trailed 7-0 at the end of the opening quarter. Nixa went on to put up 47 unanswered points.
