Least of These, Inc. celebrated its 24th birthday on Wednesday, Feb. 9. The organization started in 1998 as an outreach project for a Nixa church, serving seven families. After one year, 100 families were already being served by the program. As of last year, that number has grown to 10,546 families in Christian County. “According to Feeding America, the food insecurity rate in Christian County has increased from 8% to 11.5% as of the 2020 census,” said Michelle Peter, Development and Marketing Coordinator of Least of These. “With our birthday, we just want to encourage everyone to continue to support us.
