Nixa offense continues to put up big numbers at Neosho's expense

Posted

Quarterback Connor Knatcal upped his touchdown total against Neosho to eight by throwing four scoring strikes in Nixa’s 65-21 home-opening triumph versus the Wildcats on Friday.

Knatcal connected with wide receiver Kael Combs for a pair of touchdown passes and teamed with wideouts Rylan Michel and Wyatt Vincent for a touchdown pass apiece.

The four touchdown passes tied Nixa’s single-game school record. A year ago, Knatcal had four touchdown passes at Neosho.

Knatcal shares the single-game touchdowns record with teammate Austin McCracken.

Seemingly, everyone at Nixa (2-0) has scored opposite Neosho in recent seasons. The Eagles’ last three wins against the Wildcats have seen them total 170 points.

Nixa (2-0) put the turbo clock in play Friday for the final two-plus minutes of the third quarter and all of the fourth quarter.

The Eagles jumped on top 38-7 in the first half.

Running back Ramone Green broke loose for three touchdown runs and his backup, Dylan Rebura, had two touchdown runs.

Kaleb James made good on a 36-yard field goal.
