Nixa's Burch happy to make return to Pointe Royale for COC Tournament

Posted
Nixa’s Chandler Burch was looking forward all season to a return to Branson’s Pointe Royale Golf Course. Burch fired a four-under par 31 on the front nine at Pointe Royale during a triangular earlier this season. He was due to make his way back to ‘The Pointe’ on Tuesday for the COC Tournament. “I like the course. It sets up for my irons,” Burch said. Burch’s 31 is the lowest nine-hole round for the Eagles this season. “That was crazy, I was pretty shocked, I mean that’s low,” teammate Jordan Hatman said. “I shot five-over that day. Chandler can score. He’s a good player.” Burch naturally felt momentum on his side and was pleased not to let up. “I felt confident. My swing felt good and I trusted it,” Burch said. “I was rolling. I found my rhythm, birdie after birdie after birdie. I didn’t let off the gas, I kept pushing and playing.” Coach Jeff Lotz agrees that Burch’s irons-play suits him well on approaches to the greens at Pointe Royale. “His short game is pretty good,” Lotz said. “If he plays his game, which is basically 150 yards and in, he’s hard to beat.” Nixa has won team titles at the Ozark Tournament and Willard Tournament.
