Posted

WILLARD — Ozark posted its first shutout in seven years while whipping Willard 52-0 in a matchup of teams searching for their first win Friday.

Ozark’s most previous whitewashing had been a 41-0 triumph against St. Clair in 2014. The shutout of Willard comes four weeks into Justin Emmerton’s tenure as defensive coordinator.

Ozark’s defense picked off four Willard passes and recovered one Willard fumble.

Cooper Buvid returned an interception for a touchdown.

Ozark allowed only 90 yards rushing. Willard’s biggest play from scrimmage all night was a 16-yard run.

Ozark’s offense totaled 379 yards, including 276 on the ground.
