Ceremony celebrates major food donation

Christian County delegates and representatives of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints join personnel from Least of These to pose for a photo at a ceremony celebrating a donation of 40,000 pounds of non-perishable food items donated to Least of These by the church on Wednesday, Sept. 30. The donation was part of a nationwide initiative to send 250 truckloads of food to 250 food banks across the nation in celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary of signing the Declaration of Independence. It was not immediately clear how many people in Christian County the donation would feed, but Angela Hudson, executive director of Least of These, said one pallet of food would feed all of the families the organization serves for one month.
