Annabelle Scott Whobrey

Posted

Service: 10 a.m. March 19 at Center Point Church of Christ, Rogersville.

Annabelle Scott Whobrey, born July 3, 1916, lifetime resident of Rogersville, wife of the late Bert Whobrey, mother to Dwayne, Beverly and Gary, died March 14, 2016.

Annabelle leaves behind a legacy of nostalgic published writings that spanned her lifetime and those of her loved ones. Written in her authentic voice and laced with Ozark colloquialisms and humor she touched multiple lives across the world. With her love of writing, she naturally used that skill to send a multitude of cards and letters throughout her lifetime. The comment was once said, “It was worth going to the hospital just to get a letter from Annabelle.” The family often struggled to keep up with the demand of stamps that Annabelle required.

Annabelle taught Ladies Bible Class at Center Point Church of Christ where she was a lifetime member. Her Christianity was as much a part of her as her ability to find humor, to listen and find a bright spot in the toughest times, her love of basketball and her joy of family. Those characteristics will be missed on a daily basic from her family and friends.

Memorial contributions can be made to: Fair Haven Children's Home: 3132 N. Fair Haven Loop, Strafford, 65757.
