Jonathan David Brown, 60, of Ozark, died Sept. 27, 2016, in his home. He was born Nov. 20, 1955, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Harold Brown and Gayle (Screws) Brown. He was united in marriage to Rachel (Britton) Brown on May 2, 1987, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jonathan grew up in a musical family, and learned about recording-studio engineering in his teens. He was in a popular Christian band called Seth in Oklahoma before moving to Los Angeles to grow his gifts and talents working with Maranatha Music recording studio and ministries. He had many No. 1 songs and albums. Jonathan dreamed of having a 19th-century farm and moved to Ozark in 1999, to seek those dreams and spiritual convictions. He continued recording for local artists and custom projects from his home studio.

Jonathan is survived by his wife of 29 years, Rachel (Britton) Brown; children, Jesse, Suzanna, Sharon, Judah and Bretanya of Ozark; adopted son, Paul Brown of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; first wife, Tammy Brown; sons, Nathan and Galen of Nashville Tennessee; mother, Gayle (Screws) Brown of Choctaw, Oklahoma; brothers, Stephen and Joe; sister, Becky Matinez; adopted sister, Sarah; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Brown of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Arrangements under the care of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. On line condolences may be shared at www.barnesfamilyfunerals.com.
