After living in Pennsylvania for a short while, Lois moved back and made her home in St. Joseph. In 1969, she married Vern W. Daise and the couple were blessed with one daughter, Sherri. Lois worked for Laidlaw Transit, formerly Davis Bus Company, for 20 years until her retirement in 2001.
