Graveside service: 10 a.m. Oct. 20, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Springfield. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.

Vickie S. Pinion, 63, of Springfield died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017. She was born July 7, 1954, in Springfield to Arthur and Marjorie (Wright) Pinion.

Vickie graduated from Central High School in 1971. She attended Vatterot College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree. She was a stay-at-home mom for many years while her children were young and started working at Fast-N-Friendly. Vickie worked for Fast-N-Friendly until she became disabled. The most important role to Vickie was to be a mother to her children. Her family describes Vickie as outgoing, understanding and was always there when needed. She was a good cook and made candy every year at Christmas time. She loved her Diet Coke and watching COZY TV. Vickie is a descendant of the Ottowa Tribe of Oklahoma and was proud of her native American heritage.

Vickie is survived by her children Michael Pinion of Springfield, and Tanya Averhart of Springfield; grandchildren Andrew Alexander Ortiz and Cody James Averhart; and brothers Paul Pinion and Bob Pinion.

Vickie is preceded in death by her parents; and a son Darrell Gene McFarland Jr.
