Eagles' 4 x 800 relay lowers PR to 8:09 while winning COC gold by seven seconds

Nixa’s 4 x 800 boys relay entered Wednesday's COC Meet seeded second, but finished first in 8:09. 

The Eagles had two legs of 1:58 while winning by :07. Their personal record had been 8:16.

The Eagles’ Jackson Cantwell took first in both the discus (176-9) and shot put (60-111/4)

Ozark’s Peyton Ligion tied for first in the high jump with Joplin’s Zion Allen. They both cleared 6-43/4 on their second attempt, but couldn’t clear 6-53/4.

Ozark’s Mamady Embola was first in the 110 hurdles in 14.97.

Ozark was second in the 4 x 400 relay (3:29)

Nixa’s Gideon Carter was second in the 300 hurdles (39.90). It was his first race breaking the :40 barrier.

The Eagles’ Hayden Mays was runner-up in the discus (164-0).

Ozark finished third in the 4 x 200 relay (1:30.72). The top four teams were separated by less than four-tenths of a second.

Thirds also went to Ozark’s Sam Clark in the 400 (51.10), Embola in the 300 hurdles (39.98) and Nixa’s Aaron Ashley in the 1,600 (4:25) and 3,200 (9:42) and Zernie Vess in the long jump (20-103/4).

Fourths included Nixa’s Gideon Carter in the 110 hurdles (15.83) and Afton Hopkins in the pole vault (13-113/4).

Finishing fifth were Ozark’s Johnathan Huskisson in the 110 hurdles (15.90) and Tevin Borders in the triple jump (42-31/2), as well as Nixa’s Logan Richart in the 1,600 (4:32) and Michael Eisenhart in the 300 hurdles (41.98).
