Spokane’s girls basketball team was dealt a 65-62 season-opening defeat by Ash Grove on Friday.
The Lady Owls’ Elli Mehrhoff recorded a double-double by collecting 14 points and 17 rebounds. Madison King also had a big night on the boards by grabbing 15 rebounds.
Raylen Wallace netted 19 points to pull within 20 of the 1,000-point milestone. Tristen Wallace added 14 points.
