It is so neat to sit at the table and watch the leaves being blown off the big walnut tree. Looks kind of like snow flakes of winter time.
The big yearly PTO Carnival is behind us for another year. We had so many good helpers. The kids in the crowning looked beautiful. Thanks so much for such a great community. Now, on to the next projects.
Junior High games are behind us, and it is time for High School games to enjoy.
I saw a goat in the road as I left Chadwick a few days ago.
Our family was so upset to hear of the big truck accident on 125 between Oldfield and Chadwick one evening around 5:30. This was my youngest sister’s grandson, Dusty Gross who was only 41 years old. Dusty had a teenage son and four little girls. The youngest was only six months old. His services are scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. Dusty was involved in many activities and had lots of close friends. God Bless you all! The memories will live on.
A bull rider was killed in a show over the weekend. That is a dangerous sport. Most sports are dangerous these days, and the traveling is too. I worry every time my son is taking bulls to the rides.
Many of us are worried about clean water and water levels. I have lived near Swan Creek all my life. Now that I have a farm with the creek running through it, I am very interested in my cows not being in it. I try to keep my fences fixed. But it is very hard during flooding times.
I had a call from a group that wants to have a community meeting at the Community Building in Chadwick On Tuesday evening from 5-8 p.m. on November 17 to let the public be aware of a program to allow money to farmers who have farms near creeks and other waterways for fencing to keep cattle out of water ways to keep the waters clean. You are all invited to attend this meeting to get the details. This is new to me too.
Thanks to Steve for coming to our Carnival on Friday night.
My sympathy goes to all who have lost loved ones. It is the hardest thing that most will ever deal with.
