Ozark FFA students showcased their hard work and dedication on Saturday, Feb. 8, competing against 22 area schools in the Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) competition. Each student completed a 16-18 page application detailing their high school experience in various agriculture fields. more
Ronald E. Gafford, at 89 years of age went to meet the Lord on Feb. 8, 2025. He was born on Jan. 18, 1936, in Corning, Kans., and was a loving husband, father, and faithful steward of his faith. Ronald E. Gafford and Melva A. Carmichael were married on Sept. 26, 1955. more

On April 5, 2022, Ozark voters approved a $19 million no-tax-increase bond issue to construct three storm shelters and an indoor activities building at the high school. In the Fall of 2024, those projects were completed as promised, making our schools safer with a storm shelter at every building. The district not only was able to accommodate growth but also remained under budget. more

The snow and cold days are behind us (for a while). There have been reports of frozen pipes and other farm problems with folks needing to check cows often since it is calving season. That part of winter is always a dread. more
The winter storm that hit Christian County on Tuesday, Feb. 18, was brutal, to say the least. The area got about five-and-a-half inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service, and temperature lows were sub-zero until Friday. more

Ozark High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students demonstrated their skills and business knowledge at the 2025 FBLA District Competition on Feb. 4, earning 46 medals, seven district championships, and 24 state qualifications. more
A Christian County man was one of two people arrested in a case where they allegedly beat a man severely and stole his car. Jayden Wright, 19, of Ozark, and Jared Dimmitt, 42, of Fair Grove, were booked into the Greene County Jail on Thursday, Feb. 6. more
On Monday, Feb. 10, Gretchen House, a senior at Chadwick High School, was informed that she was a finalist in the National Merit program. This was a highly impressive achievement in itself, as out of the 1.3 million students across the country who took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), only 15,000 were chosen as finalists. For House, however, the designation also carries a special significance: She is the first student in the Chadwick R-1 School District to ever be named a finalist in the National Merit program. more
