Peggy Taylor, 61, has lived in Nixa for 38 years. Taylor is the co-owner of Dogwood Printing, Inc., an independent distributor for ViSalus Science and a long-time member of the Nixa School Board.
Taylor became involved with Nixa Public Schools as a volunteer with the PTA and served as president for two years before being elected to the Nixa Board of Education in 1985. She served as president for 13 years. During that time the board was recognized as the Outstanding Board of the Year twice in 2000 and again in 2004.
Taylor serves on the Make-A-Wish Foundation Board, Mercy Hospital Board of Directors, Missouri PTA Board of Managers, Missouri School Board Association Board of Directors and the Board of Adjustment for the city of Nixa. She is also an active member of the Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce, Ozark Chamber of Commerce Legislative Affairs chairman, Nixa PTA, Nixa Athletic Booster Club, Early Learning Advisory Council, OTC Trustee Advisory Council and a Cradle Roll retired teacher after 38 years.
She was also named one of the “20 Most Influential Women” and Nixa Citizen of the Year in 2004 and received the Nixa Education Foundation Service to Education Award in 2010 and the MSBA Leadership Award that same year.
