The Christian County Chronicle (Issue #5, September/October) is now available to all Christian County residents. The newsletter is produced by Brenda Porterfield in the County Commission Office. The publication was conceived and developed by Presiding Commissioner Lynn A. Morris, who believes it serves as another effective way to keep citizens informed about county government and community issues.
Commissioner Morris noted that the newsletter complements the County’s ongoing efforts to communicate with residents. In addition, County Commission meetings are streamed live on YouTube and remain available for viewing afterward, providing citizens with convenient access to local government proceedings.
A limited number of printed copies are distributed to locations such as senior centers, nursing homes, and community meetings where Commissioner Morris speaks. However, the majority of residents now receive the newsletter electronically via email.
As Commissioner Morris prepares to retire at the end of this year, residents can be confident that the newsletter program will remain in capable hands. Ms. Brenda will continue producing and distributing the newsletter, ensuring that important county information continues to reach our many residents in a timely manner.
Citizens may contact Brenda at 417-582-4300 or bporterfield@christiancountymo.gov to request a copy of the Christian County Chronicle and be added to the email distribution list. Subscribers will receive the newsletter electronically every two months.
