National Good Neighbor Day is September 28, 2026. Last year was Christian County's first year to participate, and Christian County had two nominees for the Top Twenty Missouri Residents honored as the state's Most Engaged Neighbors for 2025. Brent and Julia Davis from Fremont Hills and Ashley Marks from Ozark.
Good Neighbor Week will be celebrated September 28 through October 4, and we encourage all Christian County residents to participate by performing intentional acts of kindness. Together, we hope to earn the title of "Missouri's Most Neighborly County."
Neighbors can be nominated for recognition throughout the year, and residents may even nominate their own acts of kindness to be entered into a random prize drawing. Winners will be announced during Missouri Good Neighbor Week and will be recognized at an October County Commission meeting.
Every act of kindness, big or small, helps strengthen our community and showcases the spirit of neighborliness that makes Christian County a great place to live.
Hopefully, Christian County residents will strive to be good neighbors all year long by helping others and strengthening our community.
"This is a program that doesn't cost a lot of money," said Presiding Commissioner Lynn A. Morris. "Random acts of kindness can make our county a much better place to live."
Once again this year, a County Proclamation recognizing Missouri Good Neighbor Week will be read during the County Commission meeting on Thursday, September 24. Residents are encouraged to join in the effort by showing kindness, supporting their neighbors, and helping make Christian County a more caring and connected community.
