Clark's 27-point effort to no avail in Lady Eagles' District semifinal loss to Kickapoo

Nixa’s post-season came to an end for the fourth straight year at the hands of Kickapoo on Saturday, as the Lady Eagles lost to the Lady Chiefs 60-56 in a Class 6 District 5 semifinal.

Nixa’s only lead on the night was 5-4.

Kickapoo’s biggest lead was 10 points at 24-14, 51-41 and 53-43.

The Lady Chiefs turned the ball over three times in the final two minutes.

Nixa rallied to within 56-51 with 1:05 remaining and 58-54 with :24 to play.

Taylor Wood came off of the Lady Eagles’ bench to bank in a layup and swish a 3-pointer in the final two minutes.

Kickapoo’s free-throw shooting helped seal its win. The Lady Chiefs finished 21-of-29 at the free-throw line.

Nixa (21-7) was 13-of-24 on its free throws.

The Lady Eagles’ Norah Clark poured in 27 points. She was scoreless in the first quarter, but went on to put up 21 points in the second half.

Clark made 10 of her last 11 free throws.
