Members of the community interested in learning more about the Lions Club are invited to attend meetings.

Friday, Aug. 14: Cassidy Station at Estes Farm is holding a Back to School Bash and Drone Show, starting at 5 p.m. The gates close at 8:30 p.m. so that cars can be parked before the drone show starts at 9 p.m. There will be food trucks, live music, kids activities and the drone show. Friday, Aug. 14-15: 9 Lives Tavern is holding their grand opening celebration at 107 W. Church St. in Ozark. Expect to see speciality drinks, pop up events, good games, great people, and an overall grand time. Event begins at 3 p.m. on Aug. 14,
Saturday, Aug. 15: The Ozark School District, in partnership with the Ozark Chamber of Commerce, is holding the Back to School Bash at the Ozark Innovation Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Back to School Bash helps Ozark students in grades PK–12 start the school year with confidence by providing a backpack, school supplies, hygiene kits, and access to community resources. It's also a great family-friendly event to help kick off the school year. Families must register in advance by visiting www.ozarktigers.org/btsbash.
The Christian County Museum & Historical Society on the Square in Ozark will host Dustin Thompson, the project supervisor for the Missouri State University Center for Archeological Research at 3 p.m. Dustin participated in five different trips to Delaware Landing and will bring artifacts and maps with his presentation on findings from the early 1800s left by Native Americans and early European settlers.
Tuesday, Aug. 18: Nixa Park and Recreation are hosting National Night Out at the Nixa Aquatic Center, from 6-8 p.m. Come out and meet Nixa police and fire and enjoy pool activities at the Nixa Aquatics Center.
Wednesday, Aug. 19: Chasing Uncle William Through the Wilds of Cyberspace (Program) 7 p.m. at the Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Ave., Springfield, Mo. and Zoom. Our ancestors should be more alive to us than names and dates on a chart. Follow along with Annette Lyttle, Certified Genealogist, as she tells the tale of the amazing life of William Crout, Civil War veteran, hotel owner, rancher, and local character, and learn how it’s possible to reconstruct life stories in surprising detail with resources available online. Along the way, we’ll talk about some sound research methods. Attendance Options: In person at the Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Ave., Springfield, MO or Zoom for OGS members. Thursday, Aug. 20: The Ozark Chamber of Commerce is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony at Marabella Ozark at 11:30 a.m. at 6201 N. Farmers Branch Road in Ozark.
Saturday, Aug. 23: Chadwick First Baptist Church is holding the 2026 Chadwick Prayer Walk, starting at 7 p.m. The walk begins at the Chadwick Community Center and continues to the school. Those who cannot walk to the school may drive there instead.
Wednesday, Aug. 26: OTC-Richwood Valley Campus is hosting a community open house, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Learn more about what’s happening at the college, talk with leadership, and share your ideas as part of our strategic planning process. The campus is located at 3369 W. Jackson St. in Ozark.
Friday, Aug. 28: The Ozark Chamber of Commerce is holding a ribbon cutting at the new McDonalds at 1920 W. Waverly St. in Ozark at 12 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 4 and Saturday, Sept. 5: The City of Billings will hold their annual community fair at Billings Park. This year, the theme will be “Stars and Stripes and Summer Nights”. The event will include a parade, the crowing of the Billings Community Fair Queen, a truck and tractor pull, and more. Check the Billings Community Fair page on Facebook for more information.
Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026: Christian County C.A.R.E.S. is holding their second annual car show at Cassidy United Methodist Church from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. The event will include raffles, a silent auction and entertainment. Cars can be registered online at https://christiancountycares.org. Cassidy United Methodist Church is located at 5151 N. Fremont Road.
The Ozark Senior Center is hosting their Bingo-Rama fundraiser. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.; the event lasts from 3-5 p.m. Admission is a $12 donation at the door. Two Bingo cards will be provided, or guests may bring their own, but ONLY two Bingo cards may be used during play. Refreshments will be available, and there will be prizes for the winners, and a pie auction. The Ozark Senior Center is located at 727 N. 9th Street, across from Finley Farms.
