Saturday, Sept. 26: Historic Meadows School on Bull Creek will celebrate 120 years with a reunion from 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Bring a lawn chair and covered dish for lunch. Following a potluck meal at noon, there will be music from The Creek Rocks. Funds are being raised to restore the schoolhouse; all donations will be appreciated. Tuesday, Sept. 29: The Ozark Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting at Mudhouse Coffee at 11:30 a.m. Mudhouse Coffee is located at 5401 N. 22nd Street in Ozark.
Wednesday, Sept. 30: 10 a.m. Morgan Industrial Technology will hold a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the beginning of the construction of a new 15,000 square-foot technology center. The groundbreaking will take place at 1702 W. Boat St. in Ozark.
The Meadows at Wicklow will hold a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. at 1284 N, Old Castle Rd. in Nixa.
Saturday, Oct. 3: The American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 434, Nixa is holding a fish fry fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 591 McCroskey. Cost is $15 for adults; children 10 and under eat free. All proceeds go to help veterans.
Volunteers in Medicine Christian County will hold a fundraiser chili cookoff at 6 p.m. at Union Hill Church of Christ. The suggested donation for the event is $10. In addition to dinner, the evening will include a silent auction and nutrition talks given by MU medical students. Union Hill Church of Christ is located at 865 N. Nicholas Rd. in Nixa. The Kiwanis Club of Christian County is holding a pancake breakfast and silent auction at First Baptist Church of Ozark from 7-11 a.m. Tickets are $5, children five and under get in free with an adult purchase. All proceeds will benefit the various local children and youth projects that Kiwanis Club of Christian County sponsors. Saturday, Oct. 10. The Christian County Museum and Historical Society rescheduled their September field trip due to heat. This time we will head to the beautiful and historic Bull Creek. Meet at the Museum (100 E. Elm, Ozark Mo.) at 3 p.m. to caravan, carpool or get a map. Please bring a chair, insect spray and water bottle. Henry Schoolcraft, the 1st Iowa Infantry Union Army, and Native Americans all camped by Bull Creek; plus there is historic Cobb-Keaton cemetery and the old Bull Mills site.
The OHS Alumni Association will honor the graduating classes of 1941-1979 at their annual reunion. This year’s banquet will be held at the Ozark Junior High School located at 1109 W. Jackson St., Ozark The doors will open at 3:30 pm for tours of the facility until 4:45 pm. For those not wishing to take the tour, this will allow time for visiting with fellow classmates. Dinner seating will begin at 4:30 pm. Our meal, catered by Dining By Design, and our program will start at 5 pm. Cost per person is $25 and

The Third Annual Ozark Guns and Hoses and National Night Out will be held at the Ozark Mountain Sports Complex from 2-4 p.m. The Lights and Signs Parade will be held at 4:15 p.m., and the game between Ozark Fire and Ozark Police will begin at 4:30 p.m. There will be food, vendors, activities, and free T-shirts for the kids. The Nixa Fire Protection District and the Nixa Police Department will square off in a softball game at Game Day for a Cause at the Nixa Junior High School. First pitch will be held at 6 p.m. Admission is $2 for those ages 11 and older. The Nixa Junior High School is located at 205 E. North St. in Nixa. Proceeds will benefit the Christian County 100 Club.
