Dean Blades, 72, of Nixa died Feb. 2, 2017, in his home after a short battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 1, 1944, in Springfield, to Clarence and Mildred (Patton) Blades. Dean married Shirley Murray May 8, 1976, celebrating 40 years of marriage.
Dean was a steel welder and jack of all trades. He enjoyed building street rods, watching Nascar and spending time with his street-rod family. Dean loved to be with family and friends.
Dean is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons Chris Blades and Chad (Kim) Blades of Texas; daughter, Michelle (Chris) Dillard; granddaughters, (Baby) Bailey and Grace; grandson, Jack; sisters, Marilyn and Ilene; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred, Teresia Sherwood and Harvey (Shalene) Murray; and mother-in-law, Viola (Reggie) McHaffie. Dean is preceded in death by his parents.
Flowers are to be delivered to the cemetery.
