Jays have three players repeat as All-Mid Lakes Conference First-Team selections

Clever’s Lane Mendenhall, Brayden Verch and Landon Flood are each repeat selections to the All-Mid Lakes Conference First Team. They are joined on the First Team by the Jays’ Lucas Owen.

Owen enjoyed a breakout senior season this spring by compiling a .432 batting average with six home runs and 41 RBIs. He topped Clever in all three categories.

Mendenhall hit .402, and with 18 walks, had a .541 on-base percentage. He had a team-high 38 runs scored.

Verch had a team-best 23 walks while finishing with a .527 on-base percentage and a .395 batting mark.

Flood batted .378 with 30 RBIs.

On the mound, Mendenhall had a 6-1 W-L record and 57 strikeouts in 32 innings, while Verch was 4-2 with 34 strikeouts in 37.1 innings.

Clever’s Owen Hall is a second-team selection and Brennan West and Jacob Edge received honorable mention recognition.

Hall was 5-3 with a 2.08 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 37 innings, while hitting .271 with 29 RBIs.

West was 5-2 with 57 strikeouts and 18 walks in 39 innings. Edge hit .401 with 34 runs scored.

The rest of the First Team includes Forsyth’s Tristan Hunter, Bryce Nolan, Ayden Clevennga, Mason Campbell and Braxton Gross, Fair Grove’s Kelson Radford, Gavin Thomason and Brock Boatwright, Strafford’s Crue Crawford and Landen Rhodes and Skyline’s Cohen Mashburn.
