Jays place handful on Mid-Lakes Conference First Team

Clever’s second-place finish in the Mid-Lakes Conference led to the Jays landing five players on the Mid-Lakes First Team.

Clever’s First-Team choices include Lane Mendenhall, Trevor Deulen, Hayden Camp, Landon Flood and Brayden Verch.

Mendenhall topped the Jays with a .419 batting average and .561 on-base percentage. He walked 19 times and was hit by a pitch nine times on his way to scoring 31 runs.

Flood collected a team-high 32 RBIs, while hitting .368 with 14 doubles and three triples.

Deulen hit .357 with 25 RBIs. In addition, he had a 4-0 W-L record 0.96 ERA while pitching.

Camp batted .349 with 29 runs scored.

Verch had a 2-2 W-L record with a 2.55 ERA over 44 innings. He struck out 42 and walked 22.

The rest of the First Team is made up of Skyline pitcher Trent Pinon, Forsyth pitchers Tristan Hunter, Mason Campbell and Aaron Gross, Fair Grove pitcher Garin Geitz, Fair Grove catcher Landon Taylor, Skyline infielder Cohen Mashburn, Strafford infielder Dakota Adams, Forsyth infielder Braxton Gross and Fair Grove outfielder Nolan Geitz.

Clever's Kolton Adkins is a second-team selection. He hit .306 with 26 runs scored, 20 RBIs and 16 stolen bases.

Clever’s Owen Hall received honorable mention recognition. He had a 4-2 W-L record and 3.21 ERA.
